How To Get There

Follow the A595 east from Wicham. The A5093 joins from the south (probably signed for Millom). About a mile further on from this junction take the minor road to the left (heading north). Half a mile along this road is a farm track heading northwest. Walk along this track for about another half mile and you will find the stone circle in a field to your right.

I have only ever visited this site once, and as you can see it was on quite a misty day with low cloud. This circle isn't as well known as Castlerigg or Long Meg & Her Daughters but it deserves to be better known which is probably why I have added this site to my pages before the other two.

This Neolithic circle is 90 feet in diameter and has 55 stones, which seem to mirror or shadow the form of the hill in the background. There appears to be an entrance to the southeast. I have yet to discover anything much about the folklore or archaeology of the site.
